Relief Operations (for victims of Habagat Rains)
A project of JENESYS 2012 Batch 1 – Hokkaido Group

Dear JICE

This August, our country has been hit by rains brought about by Habagat. After days and weeks of heavy rains, 90% of Manila has been left flooded. Our group, 2012 JENESYS Batch 1, Hokkaido Group took the initiative of starting off our relief operations for the flood victims.

Our efforts stemmed from our learnings during the JENESYS Program that in times of disaster:
- Victims draw physical and emotional strength from mindful friends and countrymen
- Every small help each person can extend will go a long way
- Spirit of Volunteerism is critically needed

The detailed report of the outcome of our activity is as follows:
We wanted to put this together to inform you of our application of learnings coming from JENESYS and to thank you for the opportunity you had extended us.
